Fault Diagnosis

Trace the fault, fix the problem, restore power

45 minutes to 2 hours, depending on how elusive the fault is

Identification and resolution of electrical faults and issues.

When the lights trip for no clear reason, a socket goes dead or the breaker keeps cutting out, guesswork only makes things worse. Our fault diagnosis service sends a qualified electrician to track the problem to its source, whether it's a faulty circuit, a loose connection, an overloaded line or an issue with your changeover or stabiliser setup. They arrive with proper testing tools, not just a screwdriver and hope. Every electrician on Plug Me is identity-verified, background-checked and experienced in the work they take on, so you can trust the diagnosis you're given. They'll explain in plain terms what's wrong, what it will take to put right, and whether it's safe to keep using the affected circuit in the meantime. You'll never be left guessing about who's coming or what they found. See a pro's ratings and reviews before you book, then get a clear, honest assessment once they've inspected the system.

  2. 2Choose a time that suits you and track your pro as they head over

  5. 5Pay securely in-app and rate your pro once you're satisfied

Good to know

Diagnosis focuses on finding the fault and explaining it; any repair, replacement parts or materials are quoted separately so you can decide how to proceed. For your safety, your electrician may briefly switch off power to a circuit while testing, and may advise against using an affected line until it's repaired. Never attempt to investigate sparking, burning smells or repeated tripping yourself. Your payment is held securely and only released once you're happy with the work, and every job is covered by our satisfaction guarantee — if something isn't right, tell us within 24 hours and we'll return and re-check the work. Need to change your slot? You can reschedule free of charge up to around two hours before your appointment.

FAQs

My breaker keeps tripping — can you find out why?

Yes. Repeated tripping usually points to an overload, a short circuit or a faulty appliance. Your electrician will test each circuit methodically to isolate the cause and tell you exactly what's behind it.

Does the diagnosis fee cover the repair too?

The diagnosis covers locating and explaining the fault. Any repairs, replacement parts or materials are quoted separately once the cause is known, so you stay in control of the cost.

Can you tell if the problem is from NEPA/PHCN mains or my generator?

Absolutely. Many faults trace back to the changeover, an unstable supply or voltage fluctuations between mains and generator. Your electrician will check both sides of the supply and your stabiliser where relevant.

How do I know the electrician is trustworthy?
